Animals had been always part of my life. I always been involved in different rescue groups as a volunteer, trying to help the ones who doesn't have a voice.
Inspired by Anne Marie Lucas of Animal Precinct, I decided in October of 2005 to begin a chapter of the SPCA here in Tennessee. I knew that by starting the SPCA of Tennessee, I will be able to ignite the spirits of many animal lovers to take action in helping more animals in need.
I believe that in time, the SPCA of Tennessee will become extremely important to the State in protecting abandoned, abused  neglected, seniors, and handicap animals as well as educating people about animal guardianship and welfare. I want the SPCA of Tennessee to make a difference in our community, and I will like to see every animal to have a loving home, as well as every family to have a loyal companion.

Webmaster

Animals have been a part of Lisa's life since she was a little girl.  As a child, she was always bringing home stray or injured animals -- once, when she was 8 or 9 years old, a huge Newfoundland dog just wandered up and decided to be her pal!  Together with her husband, Mark, they built a website and coordinated the transport of more that 162 animals from the Gulf Coast after Hurricanes Katrina & Rita in November 2005.   Lisa works for a company that specializes in Helpdesk software, owns and operates an embroidery business, is our webmaster and is currently "Mom" to 7 -- all rescues!  This busy lady helps us with technology as well business practices and comes up with ideas that have an impact on many areas of our organization.

Nancy and Lou met in Los Angeles in the late 70's, married in the early's 80's, moved to Reno Nevada in the early 90's, and came to NAshville area in July 2005.

Both are retired and loving working with animal (they don't talk back to you). Between them have 5 children, 5 grandchildren and have had a number of dogs and cats. But never as many as they do noe.  Last year they lost their little Chow of 15 years and their Akita of almost 10 years. They decided to foster short term friends and now have 3 Beagles, 1 Basset, 1 Aussie, 1 Terrier mix, a Jack Russell Terrier/ Boxer mix and a Cat.

Lou and Nancy agree "If you thinks kids keep you young, try this menagerie.  We love driving all over Tennessee and if we can help out a traveling companion all the better".
